More Pictures from Iguala, Guerrero

This is Torre Fuerte, a church of approximately 700 people in Iguala, Guerrero. Lindsey, Joseph and his sister (Mariana) and I travel here to share at a two-day worship workshop. The pastor, Omar Carbajal is also a businessman whom God has blessed with tremendous leadership skills.
In God's wisdom, he has also surrounded himself with a godly ministry team. Among this team are two men from the United States: Mike Chalis and Mark Lohner. Both men and their families have been in Iguala for more than 15 years and also serve in Bible Training Centers which have been planted primarily in strategic places throughout Cental Mexico. They assist hundreds of churches.

More Pictures from Perote, Veracruz

This is a photo of Lucia Flores, the widow of the founder of the church in Perote, Veracruz. She was an orphan and never had any children. She has now been left alone to provide for herself.
Lynda and I committed to sending her $225.00 each month. This is all the money she needs to survive. Would you please ask the Lord if He desires you to partner with us in providing her support each month?
Think about it: if only ten people gave $25.00 every month, Lucia's financial need would be more than taken care of and she would have a little bit extra to save up so that she can finish her husbands tomb. This is her one desire.
This is the home Elias and Teresa Zapata in Alchichica, Puebla, near Perote, Veracruz. This is the home Lindsey, Joseph and I stayed in for nearly a week. Elias and Teresa Zapata are seated, and in the middle of the photo is Lot, Veronica and Dana. Joseph is on the far right on the back row, with Dulce (Lot's sister) in front on the right. Of course, Lindsey and I are two Gringos.
So many memories have been made while sitting around this table - trying our best to communicate, sometimes without an interpreter. They love to play games. What else there to do with 13 children in the house. Right?

This parcel of land was offered to us to build a church for the Indian village where we brought food. The land was offered for approximately $10 per square meter. $5,000 would roughly purchase a 100 x 50 lot. $10,000 would buy a 100 x 100 lot, which would be enough for a building and still room enough for outdoor activities.
The church would probably be built out of the most plenteous building material around: volcanic rock. The roof would be wood truss with a tin roof. It may sound a bit primitive, but the church would be one of the nicest buildings among this and other Indian villages nearby that would use it.

The homes in the background of this photos was all these Indians had when I first came five years ago. There are now some block construction being used.
This family is happy to receive the food we purchased. Within the box is enough nutritious food to last a few days. Each box cost approximately $10.

Lot Zapata and I purchased food to give out to an Indian village about one hour up in the mountains near Perote, Veracruz. The first time I was taken to this village was about five years ago. I was the first white man they had seen.
Lot Zapata, his wife (Veronica), his daughter (Dana), Lucia Flores, Lindsey, Joseph Garcia and I went in this truck. The roads were rough, but certainly worth the trip to see their faces as we gave out the food.

More Pictures from the Holy Convocation

This is a sample of the crowds at the Holy Convocation in North Mexico City. It was so easy to speak to a host of hungry and thirsty people for God. The theme of the conference was "The River of God", and truly the river kept rising. It was a pleasure to be with Ptr. Gonzalo and Olivia and Ptr. Gilberto and Clara at Centro Cristiano Calacoaya. The Lord met with us there in a powerful way. Many lives were forever touched and changed by the power of God. They accepted the Divine Invitation to take the plunge in God's River, as the very deepest part of God's heart called for that place in all of us, called "Deep".
